Happy Women’s Day to all the ladies out there. If you’re not a lady, then I hope you took advantage of the day off to have some fun 😉
We started the day with a late breakfast at Lucky Bread in Mall of Africa. It’s really good. I recommend the Philly Beef Melt. It’s a toasted sandwich with roast beef, mayo, cheese, jalapenos and a few other things that I don’t remember. It’s great. Their desserts are really good too.
Although I was not partial to the macaroons. They were just a bit too big for my liking. The waffles though were fantastic. I wish I had some now.
There were games today too…
They also had some big tables which we used to play a game of Gloom. What better way to start the day with the family than with a game in which you have to not only have the saddest family in town but you have to kill them off! It was actually a lot of fun and we enjoyed making up silly stories about our in-game families.
In the afternoon my wife decided that she wanted to continue reading the Empire trilogy by Raymond E Fiest. It’s kind of fitting reading about a powerful woman on women’s day. The kids have tests tomorrow, they were sent to study so I had nothing to do.
After pottering around with my car I setup this :
It’s a solo game and it’s pretty epic. I’m on my 3rd game now so I played it on Apocalypse difficulty. Things were touch and go quite often in the game. Once, I actually had 2 uncontrolled zombie outbreaks in the same turn! That’s 2 super zombies, VERY early in the game.
At the end of the day, I won through. Some last minute bravery from the Deputy and the arrival of the National Guard in their Attack Choppers kept the town of Farmingdale safe!
I had fun today and I hope you did too.
