I’m still not in front of my desk…

… that’s because it’s just too cold in my study.  I need to get a nice heater for the room, but for now, the ones we have are used in the rest of the house. My Shadows of Brimstone miniatures have been sitting on my desk staring at me for a long time.

I need to get cracking on them though, some of the expansions have arrived in SA!!!! I’m going to get all of them, not at once, but I’ll do it. It’s going to be tricky to balance painting and assembly.

A friend of mine has ‘#TMGTLT’ as his e-mail signature. Too Many Games, Too Little Time.  I think I’ve finally hit that problem. According to BGG, I’ve got 101 games in my collection. That includes expansion which should account for about 40% of that number.

That’s a hell of a lot of games! I’ve heard of people  with over 1000 games, even 1 guy in SA with +-800 but for me 100 is kind of crazy but I’m still buying more *sigh*. I think I’m addicted to gaming.

I’m going to have to slow down though. It’s just not sustainable. I could do a lot with the money that I spend on games and I don’t even get to play all of my games either. I think I’m going to need to insure my games too…

Earlier in the year I had done a 10 x 10 challenge. That’s to play 10 of my games 10 times each, and I was not going to buy any new games until I was done. It took me a little over 2 months to get that done.

Maybe I can do another one and on top of that paint all of my Shadows of Brimstone models? That sounds like a plan, I don’t want it to become a chore though.

I actually don’t need to buy anymore games. With the kickstarters that I’ve backed I’m covered for games until Q2 of 2017.

Maybe I am addicted.

Ok. Today is the last day of May, 2016. Let me see if I can stop purchasing games for the rest of the year. There’s a few things that I need to pay for though, like the Shadows expansions which I have been waiting for, since March. There’s also some KS projects that have yet to be billed, stuff like that. No new purchases from today.

I think that’s it. I’m not going to order anything new for the rest of the year. Man it’s going to be hell. There’s a few more Shadows expansions being released later in the year that I REALLY want, along with Armada expansions. Armada is the 1 game that I play competitively so I’d like to keep it up, maybe I can get by with just the ships that I own. on top of that I’m going to Battle Wizards tomorrow and they are starting a sale tomorrow!

Oh, wait, sleeves. I’ll buy sleeves. I like sleeving my games and also foam core, I want to make some custom inserts too, just to speed up setup and tear down times.

I’m nervous. I think I’m going to cave, it’s just a matter of time. ICON at the end of June is going to be a real killer, lets see.

  1. Wow your words ring true to me too- not enough time to play what you have, but I guess part of the hobby is the crazy rush of hunting out that game that will be your next big thing… Sigh- anyway your blog is great to read! Thanks for the effort!
