Earlier in the year I decided to take up a 10 x 10 challenge. That’s to play 10 selected games 10 times each, before the year is out. Last year I was done by mid-February, this year I’m taking it slow and savouring the games. I think it’s time I took stock of where I am on the challenge.
Here’s the current standings
Star Was Destiny (10)
Dawn of the Zeds 3rd ed (2)
Cruel Necessity (0)
Blood Bowl (8)
Sans Allies (6)
Mage knight (0)
Race for the Galaxy (3)
That’s 41% done.
I know, I know I’m focusing on the quick playing games. It’s not intentional though. I just happened to find myself with little time on hand, most of the time anyway. For the bigger games I’ve decided to only focus on 1 or 2 of them at a time. I find that if I bounce around between larger games then I’ll end up forgetting rules and things by the time I get back to the first game.
I’ve also had a bit of a lull recently. I’m not really interested in playing games or painting. I just feel a bit, for lack of a better word, “meh”. Weekly games night has not been happening often either, it’s more like every other week. I also find that it’s so much easier to just camp in front of the TV and watch some Star Trek. I don’t particularly enjoy TV that much, I’m just a bit brain dead. Hopefully I’ll cure some of that this weekend.
I have seen some awesomely painted models on the net in the past few weeks which have got me itching to pick up a brush again. However I don’t want to paint anything that I have already started, I want something new, something that I have not tried before. I guess I’ll rummage through my collection and put the results up next week 😉
But wait, there’s more…
The list of games I’ve put up are not the only games that I’ve been playing, here’s my total plays so far for 2017.
That’s a fair amount of games J most people don’t play 100 games in a year let alone that many in under 3 months! Just typing this post has me excited to play some games now too. This weekend is a long weekend. It’s supposed to be family time, what better way to spend time with the family than playing games?
Ok, there are a few better ways but for my family gaming ranks right up there with the best of them. It’s just a pity they are not really fans of the games on my 10 x 10 😉 I do have some friends that want to play Mage Knight with me, finding time to play is proving difficult.
