Sans Alliés is a solo wargame. You’re the commander of the good guys in a war against an evil enemy that’s trying to build their ultimate weapon. The race is on to topple their regime before they wipe you out.
Earlier in the year I decided to take up a 10 x 10 challenge. That’s to play 10 selected games 10 times each, before the year is out. Last year I was done by mid-February, this year I’m taking it slow and savouring the games. I think it’s time I took stock of where I am on the challenge.
I’ve mentioned before that I enjoy solo games. There’s just something about a tactile, mentally challenging experience which video games or TV cannot provide. I’ve always felt like I alone in SA but recently I’ve been finding more and more solo players; the local stock of Friday sold out before I could even get a copy!. So I thought I’d put together a bit of a guide for solo gamers.
This weekend marks the 20th anniversary of Hobby-X, South Africa’s premier hobby expo. There’s going to be lots to see, even talks on how to turn a profit from your hobby but what I want to see is the Solarpop exhibit. Solarpop is a company formed by the merger of the 3 largest table top game distributors in SA.
Vital information has been lost on a planet infested with the most lethal predators in the known galaxy. Information necessary for the survival of mankind. In situations like these, whom ever is sent to retrieve the data is doomed to certain death. We have only one recourse the Space Marines. For they shall know no fear.
