Once again my desk is a mess. It’s largely because I’ve not actually touched it in about 2 weeks. Then all of a sudden things are really busy but my desk still looks the same. So what have I been up to…
First off I got a fair amount of new loot. Naturally I’ve wanted to play all of them right away. however we all know that this does not happen, but I like to pretend. So I’ve read 6 game manuals in the past 2 weeks! Did I play all of these game yet? No. Just 3 of them, I might swing the forth tonight.
Grifters is a hell of a lot of fun. It’s fairly quick and I love the theme. Expect a review fairly soon! The other card game Legendary Big Trouble in Little China looks pretty good too. It’s just a bit of a schlep to setup.
I don’t know why but Upper Deck print and pack their cards in an odd manner. Normally if a game has 10 decks of cards, all of the cards for a given deck will be packed together. Not so with these guys. There are 4 of them in this pack of cards, 4 in that pack, 5 in another and the rest in another. You need to separate all of the cards and sort through the lot of them. Then you need to label the dividers and repack everything in the box.
If you sleeve your cards like I do this can take some time. It does delay getting to the actually game, which is a pity. Ronin and I adore the movie and we are just itching to have a go. However once you get it setup you just need to packe them in a nice logical order and then you’re good to go.
Next up is Fury of Dracula. I’m so glad I picked this up! It’s loads of fun and highly atmospheric. It can take some time though so I’m not sure when I’ll get enough plays in to do a review. I’m sad because it’s a really fun game.
Now the big one. Seafall, or Snoozefall, depending on which reviews you are looking at. I’m not overly hyped about this one but with all the negative press I think I’m going to find it enjoyable. I’ve found a few people who are willing to dedicate their time to play the game every month. I can’t wait to get started on it. We have a history of attacking each other at crucial moment and then spending a week talking smack about what happened in the game.
It’s going to be fun. I’m trying to avoid getting a full 5 player game though as I’ve heard bad things about the downtime. There’s quite a bit to think about in this game especially as your decisions will impact future games too. So that can cause some AP.
Finally I did get some painting done, well I tried too. at the very least I’ve done some priming and some base colours. I’m just lacking energy these days. I’ll make my way through it just need to push myself a bit.
Anyway that’s me for now. Catch you next week.
