I’m getting back into the game and it feels good! Not that I’ve not been playing games, but I’ve not been playing as much or as often as I usually do. I did not realise that I was “missing” a part of my hobby until this weekend. Studies for the first 6 months of the year then being extremely ill has had me out of sorts but this weekend I started getting out again. I took Ronin along to a Blood bowl tournament that I managed to organise at Battle Wizards.
ICON 2017 has come and gone. For some it was lackluster, for others it was an absolute blast. I thoroughly enjoyed it, I would call it a blast but I had someone coughing on me for over an hour and I pick up a bug which I’m still trying to get over… It’s also the reason for no post last week (I’m sorry)
So this weekend was International Table Top Day; a day of table top gaming around the world. Things where buzzing on all social media fronts, forums, FB, Twitter etc. In South Africa it happened to fall on a long weekend which meant even more time for games!
This weekend marks the 20th anniversary of Hobby-X, South Africa’s premier hobby expo. There’s going to be lots to see, even talks on how to turn a profit from your hobby but what I want to see is the Solarpop exhibit. Solarpop is a company formed by the merger of the 3 largest table top game distributors in SA.
Timeless Board Games is still having their monthly board games event and it’s fantastic! Life has prevented me from going to the last 3 or 4 of them but I got to go through this time and hopefully I’ll keep it up for the rest of the year. There have been a few changes to the formula; all of which look like they are going to be a success.
